"you don't have to understand anything in order to appreciate it. that's where people go wrong; i can't expect anyone to understand my ways of being or to ever experience what i've been through... the music i make is about my everyday life. certain things put certain sounds in my head and when i get in the studio that's what comes out. listen to 'sitting in the back seat.' that song is about my thinking patterns -- me sitting in the back seat on the 181 heading west on the 210... the whole environment just contributes so much and it just happens that i am in this era expressing it in an electronic form... a lot of people say electronic music has no soul. but the soul comes from within: hear it and feel it.
